There is plenty of space downstairs, with a spacious dining room, sitting room and a well-equipped kitchen. French windows open onto a private patio and there is also a balcony on the first floor, offering stunning views of the Esk. Visitors have access to a shared lawned garden and, in the colder months, the cottage warmed by central-heating throughout. A wonderful property at any time of year.

Located on the mouth of the River Esk Whitby is a small, but well known, coastal town in Yorkshire, England. It is not far from Glaisdale, Lealholm, Hinderwell, Runswick Bay, and Staithes and is one of over two hundred towns and villages in Yorkshire in which Go2 has cottages or holidays lets available. The closest cities are York (population 137,505), Ripon (population 16,468), and Leeds (which has a population of 443,247 according to the 2001 Census).
Set within the Borough of Scarborough, Whitby has an economy which is greatly boosted by tourism, but fishing continues to play a large part. It has a number of interesting landmarks including the ruins of Whitby Abbey, the Old Town Hall and also a status of Captain Cook in the Royal Crescent, and it forms a great location to stay at if you wish to visit this part of Yorkshire.
